Greetings from Bloomington, MN!!
The 2011 JettRide is officially under-way!! Most of the riders arrived last night… we had a pizza party got to know one another and after dinner went across the street to Culvers for some frozen custard!
We are staying at the Unity South Church in Bloomington, MN. Happy Belated Birthday to JettRider John Fontes who turned 15, July 4! We kicked off this morning with a shake-down ride around town – 15 miles, mostly on a bike path along the river!! Although we might have been better off on mountain bikes on that trail – everyone did great!!
After the ride we loaded up the cars and headed to the Mall of America for lunch, very generously donated by the Panda Express (thank you Yi-Chen and the Panda Express crew!). After lunch we had a few hours to explore the mall, and hang at the amusement park – inside of the mall! It was pretty amazing. Tonight we are having a pasta party, and some local families and church members will be joining us! The cooking crew is looking good out there!! Tomorrow we have a 40 mile ride to Hudson, WI where we will stay with 2 alumni JettRiders! Gillian from the 07 tour, and her brother Adam from last year!!
