Day 8 – Jackson

This morning we had to wake up at 4:30am.  We all had our stuff pre-packed from the night before.  Most of us stayed in our pajamas to ride the mile down to the water.  We then boarded the ferry.  Almost all of the group fell asleep at some point during the two hour boat ride across Lake Michigan.  We bought breakfast sandwiches on the boat which were very good, but expensive.
Today we rode about 50 miles into Brockford, Michigan.  We rode 25 miles on the rail-trail, and 25 on the streets.  The rail-trail was flat, but the streets were very hilly.  Lunch was at a very amusing park, we played on the swings, slides and just goofed off.
Tonight we are staying in a community building.  It has couches, ping pong, and mini basketball.  Our wonderful hosts brought dinner.  We had pizza, pasta and cupcakes for desert.  We met 2 families affected by Duchenne and shared stories with them.  It seems like it’s gonna be a great night.
