Hello from Middleton, WI!  Today we rode 48 miles from Wisconsin Dells, WI.  The ride started out rough, as we took a few wrong turns, but once we got back on schedule everything was smooth.  For lunch, we stopped at a fully functioning dairy farm, arranged by leader, Sara’s sister who is a veterinarian.  We ate lunch in the kitchen which was air conditioned, a nice treat!  Then, Craig, the third generation to run the farm, gave us a tour, which had over 350 cattle.  Colby got a little close with one cow, Norma… a little too close if you ask me!
After lunch, we finished the ride into Middleton, much of which was on a nicely paved bike trail.  We arrived in Middleton and were greeted by Candace Miller, and her two sons, Joseph and Ethan, both affected by Duchenne.  Candace organized free hotel rooms for all of the riders, along with a pizza dinner!  Thank you Candace!!!
After dinner we played in the pool, and had a blast with the boys!  Some of the kids went shopping in a strip mall close to the hotel, and continued to partake in their usual shannagins… there was a full MOON.  (pun intended).
Everyone slept very comfortable in beds, and enjoyed real showers!! Thanks again Candace!  It was wonderful meeting and spending time with you and your boys!
Tomorrow we have a 100+ mile day, including a stop at Trek, and a car shuttle to cut some miles.  Until then…
Colleen
