Greetings from Hudson, WI! On our first official day of riding, we rode 45 miles from the Mall of America to Hudson, WI. We had a great send-off, those joining us included the Mayor of Bloomington, a police escort, local families, and a dance team!!! Thank you all for the support!

Directions were tricky, as there were many bike trails interweaving; as a result, our ‘should have been’ 39-mile ride was a bit longer. But, after a few turn-a-rounds we were able to get back on schedule. Today someone very special, my Mom, Kathy Dunn, joined us! And to boot – it was her Birthday!!!

We were greeted by alumni JettRiders, Gillian & Adam Yoerg 15 miles outside of Hudson, and they led the way in! We arrived later than schedule, but after a delicious dinner prepared by Gillian & Adam’s Mom, Caroline Wooten (thank you!!!!), we were still able to go to Willow Falls, part of the State Park, and swim in the lake with a beautiful waterfall – it was awesome!!

When we got back, we were surprised by more alumni Riders – Aaron & Richard from 2010! Everyone is hanging out, eating ice cream cake… and catching up.

Tomorrow we have 48 miles to Menomonie, WI, for our first and only night of camping! Until then…
Colleen
